Banks has shared the new music video for her latest single ‘Trainwreck.’
The song is available on her second full-length album, The Altar [Harvest Records] which is out now.
Continuing a tradition of unhinged visual glory, the clip exercises her unpredictable and dark sensuality as she performs in front of an old-school VHS camera for anonymous suited ghouls.
It’s uncomfortably beautiful at the intersection of high fashion and David Lynchian surrealism.
The music segues from ominous bass, claps, and synths into a hypnotically haunting refrain, “You thinking with your one brain, watch you decapitate. You show me all your letters and I should’ve confiscated. Put my eyes away, and I had to get away.”
The Altar has already clocked over 85 million Spotify streams and counting, while Consequence of Sound proclaimed ‘Trainwreck’ a “radio-ready banger” and PopCrush named the track among its list of “Five Songs to Know.”
Upon release last fall, The Altar bowed in the Top 20 of Billboard’s Top 200 and Top 10 on the Top Alternative Albums Chart and received acclaim from Time, Harper’s Bazaar, NPR, V Magazine, and many others.
Surrounding her return to the Coachella stage in April, Banks reveals a string of Spring 2017 West Coast tour dates.
She kicks off the West Coast tour in San Diego, CA on 13th April, making stops in Portland, Vancouver, Seattle, and San Francisco in between her Coachella performances.
