EA and Dice have taken us back in time, and released a brand new explosive trailer for Battlefield 1. You can watch it in the player above.
After huge amounts of backlash against the Call Of Duty franchise’s progressively futuristic settings, it seems EA have returned to the FPS genre’s roots and given players what they want. A simple WW1 set shooter, brought in to the 21st century.
Following in the footsteps of past chapters, EA have designed maps with intuitive destruction and now dynamic weather, to ensure that no battle is ever the same.
The Frostbite engine forces players to adapt their tactics to weather changes as the elements will now play a part in the battle, whilst Operations introduces a completely new way to play multiplayer.
In Battlefield 1 you play a series of interconnected battles across multiple fronts.
It’s an exciting prospect to play a sequence of battles where your actions have consequences beyond a single match, as you try to conquer territory or push back your attackers, whilst at the same time blowing through walls to destroy those ever present campers.
“With Battlefield 1 we’re looking to deliver the most dynamic shooter ever. We want to make sure that no battle is ever the same for the players, and with the introduction of Operations, we’re giving the fans variety for game play and creativity,” said Aleksander Grøndal, Senior Producer, DICE
Hopefully this will be a breath of fresh air into what has become a stale genre over the last few years.
Battlefield 1 will launch on 21st October 2016 worldwide on Xbox One, Origin for PC, and PlayStation 4.
Players who pre-order can begin playing as early as 18th October 2016. You can get your hands on Battlefield 1 on Amazon here.
