It was only a matter of time when some smart chump had the idea to create a humourous animated movie about emojis.
The Emoji Movie comes from Sony Pictures Animation, the same studio behind the Angry Birds Movie.
It’s directed by Kung Fu Panda’s Tony Leondis and produced by Silver Lining Playbook’s Michelle Raimo Kouyate.
TJ Miller, that guy from Silicon Valley and Deadpool takes the lead voice of the character Gene, who is an “exuberant emoji who was born without a filter and is bursting with multiple expressions.”
Also making their voices heard in this animated summer flick is also star James Corden, who provides the voice for Hi-5, and Broad City’s Ilana Glazer as Jailbreak.
The story highlights the secret lives of emojis and what they get up to inside your smart phone.
The Emoji Movie has a release date of August 2017, #SmileyFace.
You can get your hands on everything emoji-related from Amazon.
