Futureheads' Guitarist compiles playlist of bands featured at Split Festival

With less than a week to go, The Futureheads’ guitarist and Split Festival music programmer Ross Millard has compiled a playlist of the many bands you can see this weekend in Sunderland. Get into the Split spirit and click here to hear the playlist.

Featuring a wide range of acts from headliners The Charlatans and The Drums to the smaller sounds of Kurran & the Wolfnotes and Little Comets, this weekend is set to be a big one for Sunderland.

Of course, this weekend is not just about the music. Split goers will be in for a treat as an evening of comedy on the Sunday night has been arranged courtesy of the Laughing Penguin Comedy Club’s Tony Jameson. For the festival foodies amongst you, the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party will be in full swing all weekend, lovingly put together by MasterChef finalist and TV Chef Stacie Stewart.

From cupcakes and cookies to international cuisine cooked up by some of the best restaurateurs in the area, mouths are set to water at this year’s festival and all to a killer soundtrack of internationally recognised bands alongside some of the finest acts Sunderland has produced in recent years.

That’s not all, the Fringe stage will be full of some fantastic acoustic performances including Beth Orton and Michelle Stodart (The Magic Numbers).
