New single from forthcoming debut LP “Life in Monochrome” released September 19 on Music For Wolves; UK tour dates to follow

Last month you might have heard “Cobalt Cheeks”, an unpredictable, twisting and turning exercise in emotion choked pop culminating in a furiously thrashing crescendo – it was a brilliantly off-kilter introduction to the solo world of Mystery Jets’ bassist Kai Fish, and also signalled the arrival of a powerful new singer-songwriter in his own right.

The forthcoming debut LP “Life in Monochrome” shows Fish firmly coming into his own as an accomplished artist and songwriter, creating a beautiful album of sweeping, cinematic pop which, while deeply personal and introspective in nature, also draw influence from a wide lineage of great British songwriters, from the likes of Ray Davies to Damon Albarn. “My Anima”, the new single, is just another example of Fish’s uncanny ability to marry a soaring chorus with a devastating emotional undercurrent, crushing hearts with the repeated refrain of “There’s nothing I can do/ I just have to be with you”.

In addition, following a warmly received debut live show at St Pancras Old Church earlier this month, Kai Fish is hitting the road for live dates across the UK and Europe in September. Don’t miss out on what is sure to be a very special experience indeed.
