Birmingham born and raised MC, singer, and producer, Melesha O Garro’s (Lady Leshurr) debut single ‘Lego’ is set to release on November 7th. Having been compared to both Busta Rhymes and Nicki Minaj, Lady Leshurr is the talk of the town when it comes to who is the most exciting female rapper to come from the UK urban scene since Ms Dynamite in 2001.

In both the UK and internationally, Leshurr has successfully gained fans through three independently released mixtapes and youtube clips (such as her recent cover of the Chris Brown/Busta Rhymes collaboration ‘Look At Me Now’). Also, in addition to this, Lady Leshurr has been featured on tracks with various UK urban heavyweights, such as Tinie Tempah, Wiley and Ms Dynamite, been named as an artist to watch by Mike Skinner (in The Guardian), and has touched a number of audiences with her live performances on stage.

Leshurr began practicing this skill at a young age. She wrote her first rap when she was just six years old, and recorded it on a phone’s voicemail. By age eleven, she was writing full rap songs to the beats of her older brother’s U.S. hip hop records. By twelve, she was Djing and rapping over UK garage, grime and drum n bass.

Now, at age twenty-three, Lady Leshurr has already launched her own record label (Gutter Strut Recordings), a merchandise range called ‘Friggin L’, and is set to release her debut single. ‘Lego’ is the first cut taken from her upcoming album, showing her impressive vocal style. Having been just added to Radio 1xtra’s playlist, additionally to receiving Zane Lowe’s coveted ‘Next Hype’ accolade and plays from Fearne Cotton and Nick Grimshaw, ‘Lego’ is said to guarantee that Lady Leshurr’s arrival will not disappoint or go unnoticed.
