Forward is not just a direction, it’s a way of life for Colorado based producer Alex B who is rolling out big tunes under the new guise of Paper Diamond in 2011. The new project finds the trusted producer moving into previously untraveled musical territory. And while this maestro is not beat making he acts as head of Elm and Oak, which functions as a record label, design shop, and clothing line. So with no time to rest, Alex B kicks off the back to school season, announcing Paper Diamond’s forthcoming EP release “Paragon”onPretty Lights Music in union with his headline nationwide tour, The Turnt Up Tour.
And he’s not going at it alone – he’s taking some of his bass savvy musical co-conspirators out on the road. The Turnt Up Tour features an eclectic array of artists from both Elm & Oak and Pretty Lights Music. This line up is poised to get any beat freak salivating. Support acts include Elm and Oak’s own Two Fresh, the newest signing to Elm & Oak records, Cherub, Pretty Lights Music recording artist Michal Menert, Robotic Pirate Monkey, and Sorry For Partying.
Expect to hear some genre defying electronic bliss joined with a dose of twisted heavy bass. As The Huffington Post says “Paper Diamond’s sound has the capacity to make a packed dancefloor vibe as one." While Hipster Overkill agrees: “He mixes dubstep’s hard-hitting beats with synthesizing sounds that make you want to dance.” Indeed true words. However, according to Alex B, “Words can’t even describe how wild the "Turnt Up Tour" is about to be. We’re bringing you some of the hottest young acts from all over the country… right to your doorstep. Don’t miss it."

The Paper Diamond sound has raw energy and the kind of dramatic anticipation only a seasoned producer can incite. Keeping in sync with his musical vision, on the first single from Paragon titled “Can We Go Up,” Paper Diamond’s signature driving beats and bass grab on tight while deep, rich tones rumble under layers of spacey synthesizers, sweet melodies, and catchy vocals. It’s all topped off with a killer hook, one that guarantees you’ll be pressing the repeat button. One thing is for sure. The energy is high.
"Can We Go Up" features artwork by famed artist Josh Holland and the EP art is being created by the amazing Brooklyn NY basedNOOK. There will be two new videos, one of which will be directed by Shomi Patwary at Illusive Media.
In keeping with the way of the future, Paper Diamond’s debut EP "Levitate" was made available for free download from PRETTY LIGHTS MUSIC and ELM&OAK RECORDS this past January. You can Download it now at: PAPER DIAMOND LEVITATE DOWNLOAD
