Recently posted online was footage from the first ever Rage Against The Machine live performance at The Quad, Northridge, CA on Oct. 23, 1991. The footage was taken a year before the release of their self titled debut album.
From this early stage in their careers their potential is palpable. Frontman Zack de la Rocha commands the stage, bellowing his charachteristic political repartee in full force. Backed up by the funk effects of Tom Morrello who claims to remember the day at Northridgde vividly, stating:
"I have seen a bit of clip and I have a full recollection of that show, It was actually the first time we played in front of a public audience, we had done one show previously but that was a living room party so that filmed footage still qualifies as our first ‘proper’ show".
