Nashville Scene No Contact Show with Brendan Benson
Nashville Scene is pleased to welcome master of power pop Brendan Benson, who recently released Dear Life, his first solo record since 2013’s You Were Right. As The Raconteurs’ co-frontman told contributor Sean L. Maloney back in April, the hook-filled Dear Life snuck up on him after a long period spent co-writing songs and producing others’ records. As Maloney points out, it’s a hook-filled and humanist look at the best stuff about life changing as we get older. Like so many releases during the pandemic, it wasn’t written with current conditions in mind, but it offers vital reminders to find joy in what we have.
He’ll soon be kicking off a series streaming live from his home studio called Off the Road, which will happen at 4:20 p.m. on Thursdays, but he’s agreed to join Nashville Scene on Tuesday for a couple of tunes. Check out Dear Life online at ThirdManStore.com, stream it wherever you listen to music, or pick it up at your local record store.
