The latest sports and lifestyle fashion brand to think about the planet first is Reebok. Having just announced a sustainable footwear solution called the Forever Floatride GROW, they add more to their ongoing efforts in the sustainable fashion movement.
In the summer of 2019, Reebok, the subsidiary of the beast that is Adidas, announced the vegan Cotton + Corn collection which featured petroleum-free, non-toxic materials. This was just the start of their journey to create more sustainable shoes.
Forever Floatride GROW is an environmentally friendly upgrade from the Reebok Floatride Energy. Crafted from eucalyptus tree fibres, BLOOM algae foam, castor beans, and real rubber trees, this performance shoe apparently meets the high-performance standards needed to aid runners.
Reebok is focusing sustainability efforts under two pillars: [REE]GROW, which focuses on the creation of products from natural materials; and [REE]CYCLED, which focuses on creating products using recycled or repurposed materials.
Reebok has made a commitment to reduce virgin polyester from its material mix and eliminating it altogether by 2024. Forever Floatride GROW will be available in Fall 2020.
