Spending a little more time on the way you look can make you feel better about in so many ways. The best part is that it doesn’t have to be hard. There are a few things you can do pretty easily and quickly without having to spend too much time and money on.

Many people may see it as a negative that you spend more time making yourself look good, yet how much better do you actually feel when you’ve made more of an effort? Usually, you feel great, and the best part is, people notice.

That’s not to say that other people’s opinions truly matter, yet compliments or questions around what you’re doing to improve yourself are always nice to hear.

Quality fabrics

Even on a budget, you can find some of the better fabrics out there for your clothing. You can tell the difference really quickly in some items.

Usually, they fit better, last longer, and when you wash them they don’t lose as much of their original design and shape.

Spending a bit more time researching and finding brands that have more quality clothing means you can do your bit for the environment in a small way.

Getting a few items of clothing that will last longer can really go a long way to your environmental footprint.

Better body sprays

You don’t want to smell like a teenage boys locker room, especially when you get a bit older. So this one will come at the cost of your wallet and some time.

Try out a bunch of different types, but opt for the more expensive versions as they’re usually better quality, and again, they usually last longer due to you not having to put as much on.

We also haven’t had many years of daily wear and tear on our body for these types of chemicals. So the long term effects of spraying some of these things on our skin is yet to be revealed.

Trying to find nice smelling stuff with a small number of chemicals, or at the very least all natural chemicals may be more beneficial to you in the long run.

Slimmer fit jeans

Next time you go for the denim, go for the slimmer fit jeans. Or, if you have a well-rounded body shape you may be able to pull off the skinny fit.

Try to come out of your usual zone and opt for a slimmer fit, just to see how they look. Your frame will look slimmer and more elongated as you no longer have any of the excessive fabric bunchings down at the bottom.

Don’t wear your dress shirt untucked

More so for this one if your shirt goes past your ass. Dress shirts or smart shirts were designed to be tucked in correctly.

This way they look clean and sharp, especially when the fit is super awesome on you. Try to find smart shirts that fit as well as possible, or if you can find a really good quality shirt and get it tailored.

Wear a watch

This one is probably the simplest as all you have to do is own one, and pop it on in the morning. These things make an outfit look just that bit better.

It doesn’t have to be fancy, well-known watch. Just something that’s clean and ideally matches the outfit you have on.

Watch out (sorry) for the fit on these things too. Huge clunky silver or gold chained watches don’t look good on anyone. So make sure if you are going for a chain, then get the links taken out.

No beard, then don’t try

If you can’t grow a beard. Don’t grow one. It’s a super simple concept, and a lot of us fall into the trap. Myself included as I can’t grow a full beard but sometimes leave it a little too long before shaving it off.

These small whisper cluster beards, more so on younger guys can look really messy. Make sure you’re keeping it clean by shaving or trimming to your style.

Yes beard, then do try

On the flip side. Growing a beard if you have one is dope. They can look awesome. One piece of advice would be to make sure you get rid of the neck hair.

This area around the neck can look really messy too if it’s not taken care off. Barbers could sort this out for you for sure.

Stand up straight

An easy one to do for sure, but in small amounts. When you hunch over throughout the day, your shoulders round off, your gut expands, and you get a hunch on your back.

Lift your chest out, try and keep your shoulders back and look forward rather than looking down. Your spine will thank you for it.

This small adjustment to the way you hold yourself can give off a more positive confident vibe. It’ll take some time to get used to, but it’s gonna pay off in the long run.

Darker coloured underwear

Over time, darker underwear wears much better over time rather than the white stuff. After a few washes, the white underwear starts to go a different shade of white.

This gives your underwear a dirtier colour, which isn’t fun for anyone. Not to mention the area these things are covering can get a little dirtier if you’re not cleaning yourself properly.
