Today Bondo shares “Zuma,” their third and final single from their forthcoming self-titled third LP (due July 31 on Solid Brass), along with a music video directed by Robbie Corral. The band has also been tapped to support WU LYF on West Coast dates, beginning July 25 with a hometown show in LA at the Lodge Room that is already sold out.
Los Angeles band Bondo balances force & restraint. Their music is world-building in a science fiction sort of way. The four-piece has honed their own type of post-rock/slowcore, built upon a strong foundation of live dynamics and a proprietary instrumental language. Their sound is narrative-like: a dream logic which is both intuitive and natural.
Start Track music blog says, “Bondo’s whole sound-world is foggy and deliberately obfuscatory. Music like this could easily disappear into the background – it’s not clamouring for attention. But put the headphones in, close the door, close your eyes, and listen. It’s worth taking a little time to let it all sink in.”
Aquarium Drunkard called Bondo, “…a four-piece riffing on a vibe something like Spiderland floating in a quarry with Fugazi’s latter-era instrumental explorations.”
Their most recent album finds Bondo once again playing live in the studio, combing through songs they know well with sincerity. While continuity persists throughout their 11-track offering, the band demonstrates a range of songwriting styles. Some tracks are more traditional, featuring verses and choruses that are easy to latch onto. Others rely on their signature instrumental sound, building subtle structures while still allowing room for meditations that ultimately dissolve into space.
Some days the album feels like it’s always been there humming in the background, nostalgic and warm. Other days there’s a new sound or a good note that leaves you wondering why you never noticed it before.
Bondo recently teamed up with LA-based Solid Brass Records for the release of their 3rd studio album, Bondo, which releases on 7/31/26 and will be available digitally and on classic black vinyl.
